About Songer Max

What is Songer Max?

Songer Max is our top-tier subscription, built for creators who want full control over their music. It includes everything in Songer Pro, plus a set of premium tools and a generous monthly credit allowance.

What's included in Songer Max?

All Pro features (custom lyrics, instrumental mode, song trimming, downloads in 6+ audio formats, in-app chat support, vocalist gender selection, 10 monthly Pro credits), plus:

  • 60 Max credits every month

  • Stems Studio for splitting your tracks into individual layers

  • 90% song previews before unlocking

  • Lyric previews before generation

  • Longer prompts, up to 5,000 characters

  • Priority generation queue

  • 20% off every credit top-up

How is Songer Max different from buying credit top-ups?

Credit top-ups let you create songs whenever you want without committing to a subscription, but they don't unlock any premium features. Songer Max is a recurring subscription that comes with monthly credits and the full premium toolkit on top.

If you create songs every now and then, top-ups may be all you need. If you're producing regularly and want every creative tool available, Max is the way to go.

Where can I see pricing?

After Max is released on May 1st, the pricing will be shown on the Songer Max page when you sign up. We currently offer monthly, quarterly, and twice-a-year billing cycles, with the longer cycles offering bigger savings.

Plans and billing cycles

Which billing cycles are available?

Songer Max comes in three cycles:

  • Monthly

  • Quarterly (every 3 months)

  • Twice a year (every 6 months)

All three include the same features. Longer cycles cost less per month.

Can I change my billing cycle later?

Yes, anytime from your Subscription page. The change works differently depending on the direction:

  • Switching to a longer cycle: the change takes effect right away, with a prorated charge for today and a clear preview of your next renewal date and amount.

  • Switching to a shorter cycle: the change is scheduled for the end of your current paid period. You keep your current plan until then, and renew on the new shorter cycle from there.

What happens if my payment fails?

Don't worry, your subscription isn't cancelled the moment a payment fails. The system automatically retries on its own schedule, and during that time, your Max access stays active.

To help things along, just make sure your card on file is current and has funds available. You can update your payment method anytime on your Subscription page.

What if I remove my payment method?

Your subscription stays active until the next billing attempt. If our payment provider, Paddle, can't process payment at that point, the subscription is cancelled. So if you want to keep Max running, just add a working payment method back before your next renewal date.

Where do I find my invoices?

All your invoices live on your Subscription page. The most recent ones are visible at a glance, and there's a Show More option to load older ones. Each invoice ID links to a full receipt.

Cancelling and resuming

How do I cancel?

You can cancel anytime from your Subscription page in just a few clicks.

Your Max access continues until the end of your current paid period, so you won't lose anything immediately.

What happens to my credits if I cancel?

It depends on the type of credit:

  • Credit top-ups (the ones you bought as one-off purchases): you keep them. Top-up credits never expire.

  • Monthly Max credits (your 60 per cycle): these expire when your subscription ends, since they're tied to active billing cycles.

Can I resume after cancelling?

Yes. As long as your current paid period hasn't ended, you can head back to your Subscription page and click Resume. Your subscription continues without interruption.

If your access has already lapsed, you can sign up fresh from the Songer Max page anytime. Your credit top-ups will still be waiting for you.

Credits

How do Max credits work?

You get 60 credits at the start of each billing cycle. They reset with each renewal and don't roll over to the next cycle, so it's worth using them within the period.

What's the difference between Max credits and credit top-ups?

  • Max credits come with your subscription. You get 60 per cycle, they refresh on renewal, and they don't roll over.

  • Credit top-ups are one-off purchases. They never expire and stay in your account whether you have an active subscription or not.

Both types live in the same balance and can be used in the same way.

Which credits are spent first?

Credits with the earliest expiration date are always used first, so your monthly Max credits are spent before they expire. Your top-up credits are saved for last, since they don't expire.

I have Songer Pro and Songer Max, how do my credits work?

Your Pro and Max credits stack. You get 10 Pro credits and 60 Max credits per cycle, for 70 in total. Both refresh on their own schedule and don't roll over. If you ever cancel Max, your 10 Pro credits stay with you as long as your Pro subscription is active.

My balance shows 0 right after renewal, what's going on?

This is almost always a brief delay. Your previous monthly credits expire, and your fresh 60 are added in the same step, with a small gap in between. Refresh the page after a minute, and your new balance should show up.

If it's been longer than a few minutes and you're still at 0, please reach out to support.

Do my credit top-ups ever expire?

No, top-up credits never expire. They sit in your account until you spend them, no matter what happens with your subscription.

Discounts

How does the 20% Max discount on top-ups work?

As an active Max subscriber, you automatically get 20% off every credit top-up. The discount applies at checkout, no code needed. The "20% Songer Max OFF" label shows up when the discount is active.

What if I want to use a different discount code?

Only one discount can be active at a time. If you enter a custom code at checkout, it replaces the 20% Max discount for that purchase. Remove the code, and the 20% comes back automatically.

Either way, whichever discount works out better for you is the one to use.

Stems Studio

What is Stems Studio?

Stems Studio lets you split a finished song into its individual audio layers, things like vocals, drums, bass, and other instruments. You can listen to each layer on its own, mute or solo specific layers, and download each one as its own file. The number of stems per song depends on the track itself.

How do I export stems?

  1. Open one of your finished songs

  2. Click Export

  3. Choose Stems

  4. Select Extract Stems

While extraction runs, you can keep using Songer in the meantime. Once stems are ready, you can play, mute, solo, or download each one, or grab everything in a single bundle.

You'll also receive an email with a direct link when the extraction is finished, if email notifications are turned on.

How long are stems available?

Once extracted, stems are available for 30 days. During that window, you can play and download them as many times as you'd like. After 30 days, they expire, but you can run a fresh extraction at any time to get a new 30-day window.

Can I generate stems for songs I created before Songer Max launched?

Yes. Stems Studio works on any song in your library, both new and existing. As long as the song is unlocked and your Max subscription is active, you can extract stems from it.

What format are stems in?

Stems are delivered in MP3 format, both for individual downloads and the full bundle.

Why can't I see the stems option?

To export stems, the song needs to be fully completed and unlocked, and your Songer Max subscription needs to be active. If you're missing any of those, the option won't appear.

How do I manage stem email notifications?

When you start a stem extraction (Export > Stems > Extract Stems), you'll see a checkbox to receive an email notification when the process is done. It's checked by default. Just uncheck if you'd rather not get the email.

Preview Lyrics

What is Preview Lyrics?

Preview Lyrics is a feature in Generate mode that lets you see the AI-generated lyrics before producing the full track. After lyrics generation, you can review and tweak the title, lyrics, genre, and vocalist in a full-screen editor, and then click Create Song when you're happy.

It's specific to the Generate mode, since in the Custom Lyrics mode, you're already writing the lyrics yourself and can edit them before producing the song.

Note: generating lyrics, editing them, and producing the song are all free. Credits are only charged when you click Unlock on the finished track.

How do I use it?

  1. Toggle on Preview Lyrics on the Generate tab

  2. Fill out your prompt

  3. Click Generate Lyrics

You'll be taken to the editor, where you can make any changes you'd like. When you're happy with the result, click Create Song to produce the track.

Does generating lyrics use my credits?

No. Generating lyrics, generating the song itself, and editing in Preview Lyrics are all free. Credits are only charged when you click Unlock on the finished song.

What if my lyrics generation fails?

You'll see a Retry button to try again with the same prompt, or an Edit prompt button to make changes before trying again. Failed lyric generations don't use credits.

How long can my song titles be?

Up to 60 characters across the platform.

Song preview

How long is the song preview on Songer Max?

As a Max subscriber, you can hear up to 90% of a track before unlocking it. That's plenty of room to feel how the song develops, where the chorus lands, and how it ends before deciding to unlock the full version.

What happens to my preview length if my Max subscription ends?

Your preview length goes back to the standard 50% preview as soon as your subscription ends. Songs you'd already unlocked stay 100% accessible: your unlock history isn't affected. Resubscribing brings back the 90% preview right away.

Prompt length

How long can my prompts be on Songer Max?

It depends on the mode you're using:

  • Auto: up to 5,000 characters

  • Custom Lyrics: up to 5,000 characters

  • Instrumental: up to 1,000 characters

The Instrumental limit is shorter because the prompt is meant to describe musical direction rather than full sets of lyrics. If you need more space for words, Custom Lyrics gives you the full 5,000 characters.

Priority generation queue

What is the priority generation queue?

Songer Max subscribers get priority placement in the generation queue, which means your songs are picked up faster, especially during busy hours. Generation time still depends on the song itself (length, mode, complexity), but you'll spend less time waiting in line.

Song extension and modifications

Can I extend or modify any of my songs?

Song extension and modifications (like trim or stems) are available once your song is unlocked. While a song is still in preview state, those options aren't available. Unlocking costs 1 credit.

Can I add new lyrics when I extend my song?

Yes, with Songer Max (or Songer Pro). You can add new lyrics or tweak the existing ones for the extended part. On free or top-up only accounts, extension is available, but without lyrics, the new section continues instrumentally or with the existing vocal pattern.
