How to Use Stems Studio

Stems Studio lets Songer Max users split a finished song into individual layers like vocals, drums, and bass. Learn how to extract stems, manage email notifications, and download each layer as MP3 within the 30-day window.

Stems Studio is a Songer Max feature that lets you split a finished song into its individual audio layers, things like vocals, drums, bass, and other instruments. You can listen to each layer on its own, mute or solo specific layers, and download each one as its own file.

The number of stems per song depends on the track itself.

Before You Start

To extract stems, the song needs to be:

  • Fully completed (not still processing)

  • Unlocked

  • One of your own songs

Your Songer Max subscription needs to be active.

How to Extract Stems

  1. Log in to your Songer account

  2. Open one of your finished, unlocked songs

  3. Click "Export"

  4. Click "Stems"

  5. Click "Extract Stems"

  6. Decide on the email notification: a checkbox is shown and checked by default; uncheck it if you'd rather skip the email

  7. Wait while extraction runs (you can keep using Songer in the meantime)

Working With Your Stems

Once extraction is done, you can:

  • Play each stem on its own

  • Mute or solo specific layers

  • Download each one as its own MP3 file

  • Click "Download All" to get every stem in a single bundle

If you turned the email notification on, you'll also get a message with a direct link when the extraction is finished.

How Long Are Stems Available?

Stems are available for 30 days after extraction. During that window, you can play and download them as many times as you'd like. After 30 days, they expire, but you can run a fresh extraction anytime to get a new 30-day window.

Note: Stems Studio works on any of your songs, both new and existing ones.
