How to Create Songs in Songer

Songer offers four different ways to create a track. Each method is independent and designed for a specific type of starting point. They don’t merge into a single flow, so you’ll want to choose the option that best fits your idea.

Overview

Songer offers four independent ways to create a track. Each method is designed for a specific starting point. Pick the approach that matches how you work.

Available options:

  • Generate: Create a song using genres, mood, and a written description

  • Custom Lyrics (Upgraded plans only): Upload your own lyrics and have music built around them

  • Instrumental (Upgraded plans only): Create a backing track without vocals

Each option works on its own. Choose one and focus.

Generate

The fastest way to get a track started.

In the Generate tab:

  1. Enter a short description of your idea. Example: a love song with futuristic themes

  2. Select genres to guide the sound. You can also specify instruments or vocal styles. Example: pop, acoustic, trumpet, duet

  3. Choose a language, or keep the default

  4. Select your Vocalist preference: Random, Male, or Female. Male and Female options are available on upgraded plans only

  5. Click "Create Song"

Custom Lyrics (Upgraded Plans)

For musicians who already have words written.

In the Custom Lyrics tab:

  1. Upload your lyrics

  2. Optionally add a short description of the intended style. Example: a Halloween-inspired love song

  3. Select genres

  4. Select your Vocalist preference: Random, Male, or Female

  5. Click "Create Song"

The system builds music around your lyrics, not the other way around.

A few things worth knowing about lyrics structure: Songer reads tags written in square brackets to understand song structure, vocals, and effects. For example: [Verse 1], [Chorus], [Bridge], [Duet]. Using these correctly makes a real difference in the output. For a full breakdown of how tags work, check out the Custom Lyrics Production Guide. You can also watch the animation below to see how a structured prompt comes together.

Instrumental (Upgraded Plans)

Built for backing tracks, background music, and projects that don't need vocals.

In the Instrumental tab:

  1. Enter a prompt describing the mood or use case. Example: chill background music for focused work

  2. Select genres and instruments. Example: acoustic, electric guitar

  3. Click "Create Instrumental"

Generate the track and use it wherever vocals would get in the way.
