Choosing a Male or Female Voice

Updated over a month ago

Overview

Songer allows you to explore different vocal styles and switch between male and female voices — to find the right fit for your song.

How to Choose a Voice (When Generating a Song):

  1. Go to the "Generate" tab.

  2. Provide your prompt or lyrics.

  3. In the Type up-to 5 genres or vibes section, select your desired voice (e.g., Male or Female) along with your preferred genres.

Note:

  • When generating a song, you can mention “female voice” or “male voice” directly in the "Generate" prompt for better targeting.

  • In Custom Mode, you can also add tags like [Female Voice] or [Male Voice] in your input, which can sometimes influence the final result depending on the style and genre selected.

Changing the Voice on an Existing Song:

  • You cannot directly swap voices on a song that’s already been generated.

  • However, if you'd like the same lyrics or concept re-recorded with a different voice, you can:

    • Reach out to Songer Support and request a regeneration with a preferred voice.

      • Mention your song title, song link, and which voice you want (e.g., “Can I get this with a female voice instead?”)

      • We’ll try a few regenerated versions and send samples before you unlock them.

    • Or recreate the prompt manually under the Generate section, selecting your preferred vocals.

Pro Tip:

If you received a song you liked but want a female or male voice (whichever is your preference), contact support — we often recreate versions manually to help match your original intent, tone, and structure.

Please note that this approach produces new lyrics (unless you are using custom lyrics), theme, melody, and tone.
